Manual Handling – Train the Trainer
The aim of this course is to give suitably qualified candidates an understanding of the manual handling regulations and the ability to train students to recognise, assess and lift safely heavy and/or awkward loads.
Once individuals are trained they will have the necessary skills and ability to recognise the risks and dangers associated with unsafe manual handling, and to provide professional and effective training to employees, with a view to substantially reducing accidents involving manual handling within the workplace.
This two day course involves both theory and practical sessions and is designed to give delegates the knowledge, presentation skills and ability to carry out safe manual handling training within the workplace with a view to reducing the amount of work related illness associated with manual handling accidents. The course covers the following areas:

- Anatomy and physiology of the back
- Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- Manual Handling Regulations 1992
- Identification of heavy/bulky loads
- Safe lifting techniques
- Team lifts
- How to reduce manual handling risks
All information and practical training carried out during this course is in line with the Manual Handling Regulations 1992.
